The Silent Auction

Don't expect to make a whole lot of money with this one. But you could have a jolly coffee hour and talk on and on about ACCES. It is just like a garage sale, except that you have a captive group and the prices keep escalating instead of depreciating.

You invite your best friends to come to your place for coffee and ask each one to bring an article for a silent auction. Maybe they will bring some earrings they don't wear any more, or an extra pair of pliers (does anyone ever have extra pliers?), or a pink flamingo. There is notepaper with each article, a starting price, and a place for guests to add their bid.

One such silent auction could very well lead to another one, if you get my point. It could be great fun.
