ACCES Foundation
The ACCES Foundation name now replaces the Rowles International Education Foundation (RIEF) name. REIF was incorporated on January 30th, 1997 by the founders of ACCES, and the ACCES Foundation will continue with the same purpose and mandate. Only the name has been changed.
The ACCES Foundation was established as a non-profit society, registered under the Society Act of British Columbia. The purpose of the ACCES Foundation is to ensure that the work of ACCES continues on a long term basis. All donations made to the ACCES Foundation, and the proceeds from them, are required to be paid to ACCES.
As with any public foundation, the ACCES Foundation will hold and administer private resources entrusted to it. One hundred percent of all donations will be invested and scholarships will be made from the earnings of the original gifts. Official receipts will be issued for taxation purposes.
The tax laws allow persons to make donations to charities, either by Will or during their lifetimes to support causes in which they are interested and to thereby save money which would otherwise be given to the government in taxes.
Contributions to the ACCES Foundation may be made in several ways:
- A gift or pledge of money
- A bequest in a Will
- A gift of life insurance, naming the ACCES Foundation
as beneficiary - A gift in memory of a friend or relative
- A gift in the family name
Already several persons have bequeathed money to the Foundation and it is hoped that more will follow. If you are interested in the ACCES Foundation, Beth and George Scott will be pleased to answer all inquiries. There are, however, public statutes relating to charitable gifts made during the donors life or by Will, and interested donors are advised to seek professional counsel.
Please consider making a long-term gift to ACCES by way of the ACCES Foundation.
