ACCES is thrilled to be the first organization in Canada to receive funding from the Canadian government's (CIDA) new "Voluntary Sector Fund". Over the next 3 years, we will receive $500,000 to transform four of our primary schools into community development centres. Each centre will offer: adult basic education, HIV/AIDS awareness, income generation training, clean drinking water, health clinic facilities, community library, and women's empowerment support in addition to primary education. This is a 3:1 matching grant, meaning that ACCES must raise $168,000, with every donated dollar being matched by $3 from CIDA.
